The discussion focused on how to strengthen the political foundation for long-term — yet necessary — investments in hydrogen infrastructure, and how public ambition and industrial capability can move forward in alignment.
Dialogue on Infrastructure and AFIR
A key topic during the meeting was the implementation of the EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), which sets requirements for the establishment of hydrogen refuelling stations along the TEN-T network.
The conversation addressed the importance of coordinated national implementation and clear planning frameworks in creating predictability for stakeholders. Long-term visibility is an important element in enabling infrastructure investments and supporting the continued development of hydrogen mobility.
Local Potential in Herning
The visit also highlighted the strong industrial foundation and entrepreneurial mindset in Herning. With an engaged local ecosystem and experience in energy and mobility-related industries, the municipality presents promising conditions for demonstrating the potential of hydrogen in heavy-duty transport applications.
Continued Dialogue
At Cavendish Hydrogen, we value constructive dialogue with policymakers at local, national, and European levels. Ongoing collaboration is essential to support the practical implementation of Europe’s climate and mobility ambitions.
We thank our guests for the open and forward-looking exchange.
